Psalm 23 Silhouette Ornaments.....

Here's a little teaser to entice you for the show. I made these sweet little silhouette ornaments. They were so fun to make. They are scripture silhouettes.

I love the gentle reminder.....Psalm 23: The Lord is my Sheppard. This is an especially touching verse for me. It was special to my grandmothers. Recited at their funerals.

The background has part of the verse. These ornaments will be sweet on your trees this Christmas season. I hope you join us at Art & Soul.....Saturday November 19, 2011 at Chapman's Restaurant. Blessings.

Some Little Trinkets.....

I am the girl who looks through the last box at an auction or an estate sale. Jeff is even worse than I am. But oh the treasures I find. I adore all old medals....old buttons with interest....old coins.

When you are a collector like me....you accumulate. It doesn't hurt that I love to shop & I will dig through to find just that perfect piece. Like the doggie above. That is my favorite. The funniest thing about these bracelets....men go crazy for them. They love to look at all the nostalgia. Jeff thinks these are the neatest thing that I create. I hope that you are artfully blessed & enjoy your day....it is beautiful here in the mid-west. Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Feature Artist.....Chelsea Jones

It is so nice to go to my in-box and receive awesome mail & photos from artisans that will be displaying at Art & Soul. I thing Chelsea's work is impeccable. She is a second year vendor. We are so glad to have her back.

Chelsea likes to create with fun mediums. She uses sterling silver, copper, and other interesting metals. She also creates with various gem stones.

I adore this piece. She calls this 'Scribbles'. I like the whimsy that is shows. Chelsea calls her business Tactile Melodies because her art is inspired by music. Please join us for our Art & Soul event on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Chapman's Restaurant on East Third Street in Bloomington.

A Little Snippet.....

....of what I have been working on for Art & Soul. I love anything that has numbers or letters on them. I also love the vintage French paper that I used. I, along with Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, hope that you will join the Women's Ministry in our third annual Art & Soul Craft Show.

The Event will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Chapman's on East Third Street. It is sure to be a delightful show. With many returning artisan's & and many new artisan's too.

I decided to make these vessels to house some home made soap. It is scented with lavender & vanilla. I have added real lavender bits & strawberry seeds for their exfoliation qualities. This soap takes the toughest of grime off your hands yet doesn't dry it out because it is made with olive oil & goats milk.

Here you can see the bars & bars that I made. It was so much fun & the kitchen smelled glorious. I can't wait for you to try a bar.

For cushion I added home made spaghetti....well not really but it sure felt like I was tossing noodles. This is my handmade paper shred. I made it out of vintage sheet music. My husband thought I had lost my mind....but don't we all like the affect??? I really hope that you will attend the third annual Art & Soul Craft Show....it will be a grand day. Thanks for stopping by. Blessings.

Featured Artist.....Sandee Milhouse

Today's featured artist is the lovely Sandee Milhouse. I am getting really excited to see all of our artists latest creations. Art & Soul is just so rapidly approaching us that I can barely contain my giddiness. I hope you will join us November 19, 2011 at Chapman's Restaurant. I am sure you will be pleased. Isn't this little bird nest pendent with blue eggs adorable?

And this sweet bird....I love the grace-fullness of it. Way to go Sandee.

And a pretty ring.....rings are so popular right now. Sandee is hoping that her daughters will come through and bring their wonderful magnets. I love the kid art. It is always a show stopper. It is wonderful Sandee is bringing her gifts to her family. Don't forget about the awesome lunch Chapman's will serve. Their gourmet soups & sandwiches were so popular last year. We sure do hope you will all stop by and do some early Christmas shopping & fellowship in our gourmet cafe'. Blessings!

Featured Artist.....Miss Tori Champion

I have had the pleasure of knowing Miss Tori Champion since she was a little girl. I first met her when she was in the Children's Choir 'His Kids' at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church that I helped direct. She is now a junior in high school and is turning into the most creative & talented artist. Not only is she a gifted artist but she also serves on the committee to help put together this wonderful extravaganza...... Art & Soul. This year Tori has added a cute collection of book marks, hair accessories & bracelets. I think she is going to shine!!!

She also puts together these adorable little floral arrangements. Tori has an eye for vintage elements that add such quaintness to her creations. These would perk up a guest room and add such charm to a little nook in a bookcase.

This little photo frame is so sweet. I love how she has added the image of Marie Antoinette and used vintage sheet music. The little rosebuds & pearls give it such a feminine look.

I love what Tori has done with the little yellow frame. The chicken wire really gives this piece country charm. I can't wait to see what else Tori comes up with. The show is fast approaching and I can't wait. The Art & Soul event is Saturday, November 19, 2011 and will be held at Chapman's Restaurant. Keep reading the blog to see other featured artists.

Whimsy & The Word.....

The vendors for Art & Soul just keep pouring in. I am thrilled about that. I can't tell you how awesome this show is going to be. It will take place on November 19, 2011 at Chapman's here in Bloomington, Indiana. Kim, one of our artists from last year is returning with her gorgeous creation. Her shop....Whimsy & The Word is adorable. This assemblage is called.....'For to such belongs the kingdom of God'. I love the whimsical feel to this piece. These are gorgeous examples of her work.

I really love little shadow boxes. This cute assemblage is called....'Put your tear in my bottle'....I adore the child like feel of this art. I can't wait to see what she brings this year.

Kim has a gorgeous jewelry collection. The earth tones of this set would be great for the upcoming holidays.

This contemporary piece has a calming affect. I love the blues & gun metal greys that this piece offers.

Kim is such an asset to this show. I think you will be pleasantly surprised when you attend this year's Art & Soul. Such a variety of unique & talented artists. Don't forget....Chapman's is offering up a yummy gourmet lunch of soups & sandwiches....be sure to check out our cafe'. I hope you can stay awhile to mingle....shop....& fellowship!!!

The Countdown is on.....

Well I was giddy with delight when I received these photos from a local artist named April Strassler. I just love all the delightful vintage pieces she has used to create her wares. These will definitely be a crowd pleaser.

I adore this little cutie. I have been drawn to this little reindeer for quite some time and am happy to see that April has used him in her art. I can't wait to see this little cutie at the show.

Here the little cutie is in the whole wreath. I love it. The gold and creamy color of this wreath will look so lovely with the rich colors of the season.

I love the bold colors of this creation. This little glimpse of loveliness will be unveiled on November 19 when the Art & Soul Show will take place. It will be held at Chapman's. I hope you all can make it. If you are a vendor & happen to be reading this blog....I hope you will send me some photos of your work so that I might feature it on the blog.

This cute wreath in pinks is gorgeous. I just love the un-traditional colors Christmas is showing up with these days. It makes it just so fun & gives the season such a whimsical feel. I love April's creations....fun.....fresh.....& a joy!!!!

Awesome Vendors Filling Up.....

I was so excited to learn that we had another vendor sign up
for Art & Soul. It is going to be a great event. I am really
excited that so many awesome vendors will be on hand.
Sheila Jones of The Bath Hour will be selling her hand-made soaps.
I for one love baths & hand-made soaps. Take a look at some of her
scrumptious soaps.......this is the sampler pack.

......here is the Honeysuckle Blossom. I love that it is
pink & green. How cute for Christmas if you don't
display the traditional red & green of Christmas???
I just adore how each bar is stamped with
The Bath Hour.
I am definitely purchasing this scent. I was so excited to
learn that The Bath Hour crafts their small batch
artisanal soaps by hand.
Their bars are emollient-rich & contain none of the harsh
detergents found in commercial soap. Best of all each bar
smells like a little slice of heaven. Some of their other scents
include.....Oatmeal, Milk & Honey.....Vanilla Sandalwood......
& White Tea & Ginger. We at Art & Soul are really happy
that The Bath Hour will be a part of our little craft show.
